Someone brought this up a few days ago, I'm sorry I don't recall who exactly :

A 16m x 16m square of land is clearly NOT 16 meters.

If you make a 16 meter long prim and compare it to a 16mx16m piece of land you will see what I mean.

Is this something that bothers people? I kinda bugs me a little.

You cant make a 16 meter long prim. If you are referring to the minimal 16m2 plot, 4m x 4m = 16m2 so you should be able to fit a 4x4 prim on it.

The smallest square of land in the game that you can select is 16 square meters (16 m^2) which is a plot of land 4 meters wide by 4 meters long (4 m by 4 m).

The largest piece of land you can join in a game is an entire sim which 65536 m^2 which is a plot of land 256 m wide and 256 m long.

The smallest prim you can make is a cube with a volume of 1e-6 m^3 (1 cm^3 or 1 mL) which is 1 cm by 1 cm by 1 cm.

The largest prim you can make is a cube with a volume of 1000 m^3 (1e6 L) which is 10 m by 10 m by 10 m.

When I can't do superscript, I have been taught to indicate it as 16m^2 just to distinguish. :)

Yes. That's the correct way to do it. Additionally, according to NIST guidelines one should always have a space between the number and unit.

4 m * 4 m = 16 m^2

To be pedantic...

4 m * 4 m = 4 m^2 (four meters squared)

4 m^2 = 16 sqm (sixteen square meters)

Here is a simple demonstration:

Imagine that this is 1m x 1m = 1m² : o
Now imagine a square that is 2m x 2m:
oo
oo
In a 2x2 square, there are four squares equal to the first one. Therefore the area of a 2x2 square is 4m²
In a 4x4 square... well count them...
oooo
oooo
oooo
oooo

Siiiiixteeeeennnnnn.

He's right.

If I had one row of two pais of Prada shoes and then below that I added another row of two pairs of Prada shoes in my closet, I would have sixteen shoes or four pairs of shoes.

Naturally, no one fit to walk upright could live with just four pairs of Prada shoes. This was just an example for the sake of propellers on hats.
