What was your FIRST embarrasing SL moment?

I thought this might be fun to do (& kind of cool for the new residents to see)

I dunno if there's a post like this out here already somewhere. If there is forgive me for this one otherwise please share.

My first embarrasing SL moment was the day I started SL . Val had been in SL a day or before I joined & was at Misty's house & she was trying to tell me how to get in the house. I managed to fly past the house, above it & even into some nice water not far from it (yay me) but had the worse time getting TO the house. finally I managed to end up at the front end of the house I finally get in the door & continuously bump against walls trying to figure out how I am supposed to move around..ahh the memories. Anyway, if that wasn't embarassing (& frustrating enough) my then 4 year old says "mommy let me try to move the lady" so I say ok, what could it hurt (remember I was new to SL at the time) Anyway, he takes to controlling my av saying "this is how you do it" moving the Av like he had been doing it his whole life. I felt knee high to an ant. LOL

well, i'm sure i have too many to remember. My most recent one was attempting to play on a computer with a satellite broadband connection where the network lag is of course dreadful. There was a big welcome back party for lucah on a luskwood platform (read: high up) with lotsa people dancing. I'm approaching the platform when my av freezes in mid flight. I sit there and hold the forward key and nothing happens, nothing happens... Then all of a sudden the system catches up, and as i sit there helplessly watching, I do a 300 MPH dive bomb headfirst into poor Ursula Madison, and send her flying out into air and crashing down however many meters to the ground.

To be embarrised someone has to be around thus I can officially say I have had no embarrising moments.... Now had someone been around that would have been a different story..hehe.

my parents never taught me how to be embarrased. i've lamented to them but they still seem to think it's unimportant. i suppose when i would be most embarassed as a normal human type would be when i type text into the wrong im box. that often just turns out to be funny though.

My first embarrassing moment in SL was when in my first week (Sept 2003). I wandered into the Morris sandbox and found a few people playing with these big wooden cars. The owner let me try driving it, and I had a blast... until I accidentally drove it over the edge of bonifacio and into the ocean, which forced me to relog (yes, driving off the edge of a sim caused things to vanish back then).

When I logged on, I was so embarrassed that I'd lost this guy's car that I avoided Morris for days so I wouldn't run into him again. I wish I knew whose car it was... I think it belonged to someone in NexCorp.

My first embarassing moment happened in Federal during my early days in SL. Sassy Apple had a giant waterfall in front of my house. One afternoon, I noticed some dots on the radar in front of my house, so I went to say hello. I walked over there and as I approached, I realized that there were two female avatars naked in the water (I won't name them, but you know who you are!) having quite explicit cyber sex with each other and using the invisible box to, um, interact. LOL it was not what I was expecting when I went out to say hi, so I turned around really quickly and went back home, though I did say hello lol.

That did not turn out to be the last time that would occur - it seems that waterfall was a hotbed of female-on-female activity (and it was different people each time). Long after the waterfall was gone, Taylor Portocarrero built a house on the land where it once stood. She told me that she came back to her home one time to find two females going at it in her living room. We decided that it must be a lesbian burial ground. Someone should put up a plaque.

When my first embarassing moment stops, I'll be sure to post a massive log of everything I've ever done here just to let you know all about it.

OUCH! I have had similar experiences with the lag & then the sudden catch up..ugh. Not fun at the time but it's ok to look back & laugh about it later. hehe



For some reason this does NOT surprise me. LOL Although, I have to admit when I first joined SL ALOT of things shocked the hell out of me...hehe.



Oh no!

Iw as very new. I was flying around and saw a couple strip and ahem hop into bed. I laughed my virtual hiney off and ran. The other time would involve the old old nakkie friday at eros and having the sim crash and not owning any land, going to my Home which happened to be the welcome area oops. Never moved so fast in my Sl lol/

When I on my second day in SL, landed on spot with lots of people and my avatar was nude!! When I guy asked if I wanted to borrow a hankie, I felt I never was going to play SL again...hehe.

One time I crashed at one of those parties and somehow respawned at the Noyo telehub. I jumped into the water really fast since my inventory had not finished loading - Jolene Jade was kind enough to take a picture of my ass.
