Having been a new creator, not so very long ago, i've decided it's time to give a bit back to the community, so i've created spaces on my sim for NEW creators and artisans to showcase their creations.
Each space is 10 x 10 and I'll provide 30 prims per space at no charge.
There are a few rules, and there is a notecard giver at the new location, now dubbed the Boardwalk of new Creators and Artisans, but i'm going to copy it here for your information.
First, let me reinterate, this is for NEW Creators and Artisans, folks who've started to finally get the hang of things, and have a few creations they'd like to showcase, but aren't in a position to rent a store.
Ok. the rules are as follows:
I've decided to provide space for those of you who are just getting your feet wet as artisans in Second Life. Basically a place to get started from, without any overhead costs.
The rules are simple and designed to make life pleasant for everyone.
1 - No Drama.. if you need Drama in your life, do it someplace else. Here we settle things in an adult manner, being courteous and patient.
2 - No Griefing
3 - No Weapons
4 - These free spaces are for new creators and artisans who are trying to get a foothold and a following in SL.
5 - If i find you selling freebie stuff, or reselling someone else's stuff, i'll kick you out, no exceptions.
6 - Because we're a retail sim, I ask that you keep your prim usage to a maximum of 30 prims, use only one of the 10 x 10 spaces, and not bring in anything that will cause lag.
7 - I'll clean the area every Monday Morning between 9-11 am SL time, so please pick up your stuff, then come back after 11 am SL time .
I'll provide Landmark information on the Boardwalk of Artisans and Creators to folks landing in the sim, and I'll promote it during our live concerts, plus put out notices around the sim. Hopefully this type of exposure will allow you to get a foothold and eventually get your own shop, freeing up the free space for the next person who's trying to get a foothold in SL.
