We are conducting an academic research examining social interaction in virtual worlds. This form presents information about the study, so that you may make a fully informed decision regarding your participation.

Research Procedure: (1) You will be required to complete an online questionnaire and (2) take part in 90 minutes in-world social activity.

Time frame: You are free to choose any time to do this within a given period of 3 days.

Incentive: Each participant will be rewarded with 3000 Lindens upon completion of data collection/verification.

All information collected will stay strictly confidential, and will be used only for the diffusion of global results into scholarly and professional forums. Any publication or presentation of the data will not identify or disclose you. Your Second Life and Real Life identity will be kept anonymous.

Requirements:
If you are interested and you own a human-like avatar, please send the picture of the avatar you are presently using Second Life. Images should be full-body clothed shots. Be sure that your avatar is face-to-face with the screen, that all body parts (including clothing) are visible and that your avatar image covers the entire screen. Participants must be 18+ years old. Avatar must be 30days old.

You don't need to identify yourself. Use your SL name and email address as your contact details.

By submitting your photo, you acknowledge that you have been informed about and is considered as your consent to be a participant in the study described above.

You are NOT ALLOWED to change anything in your Avatar's appearance (neither shape, nor clothing) from the moment you submit your avatar image until you complete your research assignments. Users who do not comply will be disqualified.
