V-rated.com (Virtually Rated), a Consumer Driven Ratings website for businesses in Virtual Worlds/Platforms, Launched On Thursday 21 August.
Within the first 48 hours over 110 people & Companies have signed up as members.
Filling a need for more information about companies in SL and other "Virtual Worlds" V-rated.com allows consumers to Rate a company based on their personal experience and allows them to add "ebay style" comments as well. V-Rated.com CEO Steve Smith (Second Life Travis Ristow) Believes that V-Rtaed.com will help Thousands of people to not get "taken" by scams or people running shoddy operations in virtual worlds because they are able to simply look up a company BEFORE doing business with them. This will give them Valuable information regarding, Customer service, product functionality, service, support etc. Smith also says “that by having a system like this in place, we as consumers and even investors may be able to better spot trouble before it is too late".
V-rated is a Blend of the ebay like ratings system where a person can leave a PLUS (+), Minus (-), or Neutral (0) Rating for the company as well as a brief comment. This will allow for a continuous record of a particular companies performance through the years. The system takes the old Second Life rating system a step further and will hopefully fill the slot left open when second life discontinued their Ratings system ( a system where an avatar paid to rate a fellow avatar) which was discontinued due to "server space issues". The V-rated.com site even allows users to ADD a company that they have done business with - making the database even more robust and helpful to other consumers.
Companies listed with V-rated.com include many of the largest companies in SL as well as many of the "Exchange" listed companies. V-rated CEO Steve Smith further explains that the great benefits available to the listed companies include, the ability to see what your customers are thinking, the ability to "reply" to customer comments with a thank you or an explanation of what happened, with high ratings your company can end up on the front page feature, companies have the ability to file a "dispute" if they believe the rating is unwarranted, the GOOD companies will most definitely prosper do to the good word of mouth advertising, in world clickable signs take customers right to your companies ratings & soon we will offer seals for websites.
"If a company is not listed my question would be why not?" You may want to rethink the way you do business, It’s all about getting what you paid for & not getting taken advantage of. Let’s try to stem the tide of fraud in these virtual worlds to make them an enjoyable safer place to live and work! Together we can do it!
