During the week of June 24-30, 2007, the GLBT community of Second Life will unite for the Second Pride Festival 2007--a long standing tradition in SL. This year, we're having the festival on a six region venue (Ruthenium, Rhodium, Osmium, Iridium, Platinum and Palladium sims), with any funds not spent on the festival being donated to GlobalGiving.com for distribution to AIDS related charities. Founded on the principles of Neutrality, Diversity, Unity, and Charity, this year's festival promises to be the largest and best Pride Festival in Second Life so far.

As the Festival date approaches, the various committees planning the event have an increasing need for volunteers. Specifically, we need help with:

--Event co-ordination: Help recruit entertainers, organize the event schedule, assist in running events during the festival (handling broadcast streams, directing entertainers to their venue, maintaining the overflow venue list, etc.). Contact Kris Mounier to volunteer.

--Marketing and Advertising: Writers, graphics artists, and sale of sponsorship packages to SL and RL parties. Contact Redemption Summers to volunteer.

--Building: Landscapers are particularly needed, but all builders are welcome. Contact JoshBear Sojourner to volunteer.

If you have something to contribute, please do! We're particulary interested in hearing from members of the Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered communities--but anyone is eligible to participate!

Want to help but don't know where you fit in? Contact me via IM, or email me at Kamael.Xevious@gmail.com

Thanks!

Kam

Well I hope the Second Pride Festival 2007 is a great success...

But what I more hope is that Ruthenium, Rhodium, Osmium, Iridium, Platinum and Palladium sims be returned to their mountinous forested beauty afterwards.

In the last few months, pieces have been rented out and then the structures just left there...trees gone...ban lines remaining long after the event. It would be WONDERFUL if Linden Lab would restore these rental areas post events.

There is a big difference with this even rental: in addition to all the trees being removed, the mountains have all been flattened!

I guess I have a sentimental fondness for those woods as that's where I
spent my early days...

Sorry...a bit off topic...
