Merchants be warned!

Don't we all get tired of those lazy crooks selling our stuff that we put a lot of work in? I do and I am taking actions! Yesterday I found another cheep imposter that copies and sells my items both on SLX and inworld. The items I put my time and soul in. This person is a very lazy person trying to make easy money over other peoples work. Lazy because he/she not only stole my textures and designs. He or she didn't even bother to put some additional work in the copy process. He/she used the black texture with gold lining from Chest 03 for the parts he/she wasn't able to copy and for items he/she build himself/herself. This particular texture must be very popular because I have seen other crooks using it in the past. I have sent an IM to the imposter but he/she didn't respond in any way. Next I visited the inworld store and found a display with a lot of copies of my items for sale.

Merchants be warned!
It won't surprise me if this person is also steeling and selling items from other designers. Please go check out this person and take your actions.

New Forum Discussion.
I would like to see SL Exchange, Onrez and Linden Labs set up a special forum discussion where we can report content theft.
Also SL Exchange, Onrez and Linden Labs should set up a black list of residents involved in content theft and other illegal activities

Private investigators stand up!
I can emagine some of you could make a good buck out of tracking down content thieves and report them.
I don't know if there already exist such service in Second life but I would definitely hire a good detective.

What actions am I talking about?

1 I will send this message to all known forums, warning people for this crook.
2 I will ban all persons involved in content theft from my islands for ever.
3 I will inform SL Exchange and ask them to remove all 'Questionable Content'.
4 I will inform Onrez and ask them to remove all 'Questionable Content'.
5 I will inform Linden Labs and ask them to remove all 'Questionable Content'.
6 I will have a RL lawyer investigate the avatar in question and take legal actions.

I know we are up to a huge task but together we can put content theft to a halt. If only SLX, Onrez and Linden Labs would join us in this fight.
If any of you have additional ideas on how we can improve the battle against the crooks just let us know.

There are a few groups already that takes action against thiefers. Search for "Content theft" in groups tab, they will help you. I went once to a protest, the system is:

They gather in the thief's store with signs, or just be there. A group member contacts a Linden (most of the cases they 'wont help') and also contact the thief. In this case the thief was forced to remove all the stuff.

Also you can take rela life legal actions, if they stoled your textures and prims and used them for commercial purposes, it's againts the TOS.

Good luck with it. I agree that LL should take a more active action against this, like they did with some type of ad-farms.

I do hope you filed a DMCA with SLX. I believe this is the most effective action for dealing with this prblem.

I hate to say it, but as simply constructed as those items are, any competent builder could glance at your photo, and make something similar in about 5 minutes. Which it appears to me this person did. They didn't steal your item, they either copied your style, or even possibly, made their item based on the same Real Life item you did. Gongs and such aren't exactly novel. I dont' think you have leg to stand on. They aren't prim for prim and texture for texture copies.

This is exactly why these types of threads aren't allowed in the forums. Nobody has a monopoly on any item based on Real Life works.
