It is a complicated combat system sort of!

I'm not sure if this will fit your criteria or not, but I decided to post it anyway.
I created the 'DoubleD Health System', which is a free grid wide health system encouraging text based role play using the features and functions of Second Life.

To put that another way, it means you can bring combat and text based role play together.

If you wish for the system to be set up in your region/region(s) contact me in world - the whole process is free, and future updates will also be free.

With the next update I plan to add optional addons such as melee weapons compatible with the system (these weapons will be for sale, some may be offered for promotional purposes) as well as ways to self-medicate your character.

Of course, I understand that this could be completely irrelivant to you, but nevertheless, it could hit the spot
