Linden Labs buys xtreet and onrez. We are facing a real monopoly on the market now. We are looking for people to join the new project which will create the true competition regarding selling sl items on the web. We are looking for developers and everyone who is interested in this project.

I am a 'homebaked' webdesigner. I am not a scripter. I have goodknowledge of how a website 'must' look and I would love to be of any help. Inworld I do texturising, logo's and other graphic-work. I surely would like to offer some help.

Why not use eBay?

Here's an idea, let's all try to convince Craigslist that Second Life is a place, not a game. We could get it on the list of countries...then place like Gor and Caledon could be cities.

Not really.
You will need a server inworld too, wich delivers the requested objects.
And also a system that communicates with the web server.
It is not that difficult, but it will take a lot of work.

Truly open Source

I think this is great and I would help, but I think the best thing is to develop scripts and plugins for an open source cms like joomla or drupal and then make it all open source - we need lots of competitors, not just one and it should be open source. If it is, I will help.
