The Pride Festival 2007 committee has formed and planning is underway for this summer's Second Life Pride Festival. Given the enormous growth in the GLBT community over the past several months, we've expanded our plans to include events on four joined regions on the mainland. Given this increase in size, the committee is in dire need of volunteers for the following committees:
The Steering Committee--we're especially recruiting the LBT portion of the community here, though membership currently remains opens. (The Steering Committee is responsible for co-ordinating the activities of all sub-committees, as well as establishing policies and procedures to ensure an open, welcoming environment for all SL citizens at the event.)
The Building Committee--Can you help us decide what our four sims will look like, and help us build them in a week? A challenging set of tasks requiring innovative and experienced developers and builders.
The Finance Committee--Second Life Pride Festival is a not-for-profit organization established for charitable purposes. Help us decide which charities to support, and help keep our accounting public and above board.
The Marketing and Advertising Committee--If sales are your thing, help us market, not only the Festival itself, but coordinate our activities with the various vendors who have traditionally participated in the event. If you're a good communicator, this is the committee for you.
The Operations Committee--Love planning events? Can't get enough of auditioning Theatrical Groups, Live Musicians, DJs and other performaning artists? Got a strong desire to co-ordinate activities, exhibits, lectures, and dances? Do you love fiddling with Google Calendar? The responsibility of this committee is to recruit participants and schedule events throughout the Festival.
Can't do any of this but want to help? LET US KNOW! Contact Kamael Xevious in world for more information, or come to one of our meetings, every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. PST!
