Hello! Thanks for contacting us regarding broadcasting opportunities with radiomaxx.net. First, a little about us: Radiomaxx.net prides itself on being the authorative voice of rock on internet radio. We play a wide variety of rock--hard rock, classic rock, alternative rock, progressive- rock, indie rock, heavy metal and nu-metal, grunge--spanning the last four decades. Our motto is: "Maximum Music all the Time," and "We play music that doesn't suck."
If you think britney spears, justin Timberlake, or Beyonce is rock, please put a loaded revolver to your forehead and gently squeeze the trigger. You'll be doing yourself and the world a favor. Honest.
If you haven't figured it out from the first paragraph, we are not a variety channel. We are
a rock station and, although we are liberal as to what we consider rock, we insist anyone
broadcasting with us adhere to the station's genre. I strongly suggest anyone wishing to
broadcast with us do the following.
(A) acquire copious amount of alcohol
(B) consume said alcohol
(C) point your win amp to http://tess.fast-serv.com:8214 and spend a few hours listening to our programming.
A little more about us: Radiomaxx has existed, more or less, since 2005. We are listed on iTunes radio and other popular media directories. We can sustain several hundred concurrent listeners, and average between 70-150 during prime time (8:00am-5:00pm) listening hours. Our website--www.radiomaxx.net--
receives several hundred unique visitors a day resulting in thousands of daily page hits.
Even a little more about us: we are an adult oriented station. That is, we are uncensored. However, we try to minimize gutter language and shock jock mentality. Many of our songs do contain explicit lyrics.
The majority of our listeners are people who tune into iTunes radio from work. Currently, only a very small percentage of our listeners are gamers, but those numbers are slowly and steadily increasing.
While we welcome DJs/broadcasters from Second Life, please understand very clearly the following: We are not a club. We are not a club. We are not a club. We are not a club. That said, please under- stand that we are a radio station, not a club. This means that you probably will be DJing without scantily clad avatars hurling tips at you. You must be capable of broadcasting to a non-second life audience. We have met many DJs who are able to DJ great to a crowd in Second Life but fall asleep at the wheel when it comes to Djing to people who they cannot see. We realize some people are attention
and admiration whores, so if you fit this description, radiomaxx.net is probably not the right venue for you. We do have a small tavern from which we hold a few events. And DJs are welcome to broadcast from any location of their choosing within SL provided they are enthusiastic about and promote the station.
Second Life is currently awash with DJs. Anyone with a microphone and a few MP3s tends to believe that God has suddenly and magically gifted them with the ability to DJ. We know better. We seek people with wit and personality.
So, having read all this, if you're still interested in broadcasting with us, and:
(1) You have SAM or similar broadcasting equipment.
(2) a GOOD knowledge of rock
(3) an outgoing personality
(4) A healthy collection of MP3s and the ability to handle requests.
