PALACIO DEL EMPERADOR : still under renovation (SL Forum members sneak preview!)
Centuries ago, explorers from a far away land came to a new territory in the Clonmel region to search for gold. Local legends told of a treasure trove that lay hidden since the fall of the ancient empire that occupied the region long before.
The search went on for years, until the Emperor back in the old country became impatient. The Emperor sent word that he would journey to Clonmel to lord over the search himself, and that they had better be prepared to host him. Hoping to appease the Emperor's wrath, the explorers tasked themselves with building the largest and most elaborate Imperial residence yet known. Confident that they would eventually find the treasure stash, they spared no expense in the construction of the palace.
The Emperor arrived, and was very pleased. As time went by, the search for the treasure continued, but never met with success. The old country fell onto hard times, and the Emperor lived out the rest of his days in the new world, never wanting to leave his beloved PALACIO in Clonmel.
Fast forward to modern times, when greedy and unscrupulous real estate developer Avion Raymaker decided to try to find the ancient gold himself, so that he could convert it to Linden dollars. He bought the sim, and started his search. But soon the magic of the PALACIO infected Avion too. He actually fancied himself suited to live in the PALACIO like an Emperor. His greed for gold temporarily subsided, and he became more interested in promoting culture and beauty. So he decided to restore the building to its former glory, and make it available to the public to explore or to live in. PALACIO del EMPERADOR is now a public attraction, and one of SL's finest hotels!
The cobblestone roads and the residences are complete. You can now rezz your car in Liome City and drive it to Clonmel (Don't scratch Avion's Rolls Royce!). The roads now lead all around the 2 sims. The spa is also ready! Come relax in the natural Linden spring water that flows right into the building. The lobby of the Palacio is one of SL's largest indoor spaces, complete with tall trees, and a very high indoor bridge that connects the East and West Wings. Each suite in the hotel is like a palace unto itself! There are also 2 secret passages in the hallways that lead to the vast underground complex (still under renovation). The gigantic iron and glass roof is a feat of prim and texture engineering. 6 avatars are rumored to have died during its construction.
