We used to have an FFRC Thread going back to 2005, but I figure it is time to start a new one. Yes, folks, the Foundation For Rich Content is still here, alive and kicking. And we're about to give away L$75,000 in grants for rich content. Read on to find out more! In this thread, we will post answers to questions as well as announcements on when funding is available and who won grants. We won't post our meeting chatlogs here since those are available at our google groups (search us in world in groups and you can get more info about the FFRC, also).

For Immediate Release 10-20-2007

FFRC Offers Grants Totalling L$75,000

The Foundation For Rich Content will offer up to L$75,000 (75 thousand Linden dollars) for the fall granting cycle. Applicants may request UP TO $25,000 per project to create rich content in second life. Applicants may also choose to request smaller funding amounts for smaller projects. Funding may be used to upload textures, acquire goods or services necessary to the project, to pay staff, or fund other requirements of the project. The deadline for applications is November 25.

Applicants are asked to fill out a very short form to describe the project. Project proposals will be evaluated in terms of their uniqueness in SL, the ability of residents to access the content, and the clarity of the application. The applicant's reputation for doing prior work of excellent quality may also enter the discussion and consideration of the deciding members. Successful applicants will submit a short follow-up report including snapshots of the project.

For more information, contact Persephone Phoenix in world. Grant Application form is in the following post!
