NEW sim open for business! Steady Rock Island offers an inner city super-hero RPG set in the US, in the mid 1980’s. The setting is a fictional inner-city neighborhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where some people have begun to exhibit various forms of super-human abilities, and are battling each other for control of the city's future.
You can be part of this emerging immersive role playing experience. Factions have been developed and we are seeking talented role players for leadership roles who can help to bring the city to life.

Live musicians including Maximillion Kleene and Thumper Boucher will kick off the event to be followed by an 80’s dance party in the fabulous tower holding the Jade Blade Nightclub. Steady Rock Island is an inner-city paranormal roleplay sim, where the gritty streets of the 1980's rub up against the strange, bizarre, and fantastical world of the paranormal. Play a paranormal investigator, a Guardian Angels-type vigilante, a member of the embattled police department, or one of the crack gangs that hold this neighborhood hostage. Or play as a member of the Populace, those everyday folk who make up the heart and soul of Steady Rock Island.
The theme is era specific, meaning proper slang and popular culture references are expected. It was created as a place for serious RPers, who wish to engage in a shared-world narrative, and uncover the mystery that lurks at the heart of our story. This is a budding environment so please be patient with our growing pains. Your participation in the living story will ensure that things are constantly changing, as your character influences the ongoing narrative.
The year is 1986. The crack cocaine trade is in full, bloody swing, Hip-Hop has reached a sizzling maturation, and the United States is fully in the grip of the Cold War Reagan years. Chernobyl has set out the welcome mat for nuclear horror, and the smoke of the doomed space shuttle Challenger still lingers in the air…
And something is stirring up the ghosts and spirits of St. Racquel’s Island.
Known as Steady Rock to her hard-bitten inhabitants, it’s known as the most haunted spot in one of the most haunted cities in the United States. Now, in the mid 80’s, life in this post-industrial community is mostly a miserable and dangerous affair. Crack-gangs run the streets, the police force has a history of corruption and brutality, and the people have taken to forming a vigilante community watch program. The last thing they need on Steady Rock Island are rips in veil between the supernatural and the material planes…
…But needed or not, the two worlds are beginning to blur…
