Cross-Genre Science Fiction Roleplay (FREE residency and prims)

The RP sim Ord Mantell (region name: NEXCOM) has become a multiverse scifi sim, a meta-genre roleplay and combat area where all science fiction is allowed. Previously we were a Star Wars sim. This means Star Wars roleplay (SWRP) is still welcome and desired, but also that we will accept any and all scifi roleplay, avatars, equipment, and storylines. Steampunk, cyberpunk, Star Trek, hard sci fi, soft sci fi, whatever you like, it's welcome here. We remain a DCS2 combat sim and our rulecard remains in effect.

Simply put, I've given up on trying to break even in SWRP or in SL in general. There are too many sims and not enough traffic from the finite player base. I figure, if I've got to pay out of pocket for the sim, I might as well make it welcome to all the RP I like across the scifi genre, so there you have it.


WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU:

If you're one of the handful of residents here, you don't have to change a thing. Wamba the Hutt is still a Hutt and will remain so, for example. You Mandalorians and spice fleet captains and exiled Jedi can keep right on doing what you're doing. The Totality Institute and the Sanguine Syndicate continue to make their homes here. The difference is that, while you'll be interacting with SWRPers if you choose to do so, you'll also have the opportunity to interact with, or bring back to Ord, any and all other scifi RP participants and equipment.

NOW, THE FREE STUFF

This morning I ran around removing rent boxes. I don't see any reason folks should pay to live in a sim that isn't getting much traffic. However, I do know how much fun it is to have a place to call your own, a home in SL, and I want to encourage this among SWRPers and SciFi roleplayers. So here's the deal:

If you're actually going to spend time making this sim your home, meaning you're going to hang out here and do whatever it is you do at home here, let me know, and I'll give you a free home with a 100 PRIM ALLOTMENT for no rent, ever. All I ask is that you actually spend time here; if we put up a home for you and your prims are sitting in the sim and you're never here, that doesn't do anything but take up space. So if you want a home with a generous prim count and NO RENT WHATSOEVER, drop me an IM. If you can come up with a good reason for it we can give you more than 100 prims.

IF YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE GROUP AND NEED A BASE, I can provide you a base, designate somebody as your builder, and give you a hundred or two hundred prims, or whatever, if you're actually going to use the base. I've gotten burned doing this before, setting up bases for people who never bothered to show up here, so please don't contact me if you're not going to actively use your base. However, if you will, then you can have it, FREE OF CHARGE, FOR AS LONG AS WE EXIST.
