Hi,
a friend of mine, in RL, operates a rather unique global sporting competition, the World Interclub League, for the sport of Pitch and Putt - a short form of golf.

In this years competition, which tees off the first weekend of August, he intended to have a fantasy division as well as the usual divisions.

After discussing SL with me, he is excited by the potential for including a Second Life team in that fantasy division.

This is how it would work...

a group of players here in SL would form a team (8 players needed each match) and play in the fantasy division, competing against other teams who would be made up of random results generated from RL players in other teams.

They would play on a golf course in SL, over a given weekend, probably over the shorten distances that Pitch and Putt involve, and their scores would be compared with those of the team they are playing against.

I think it would be a fantastic opportunity for golfers in SL to actually take part in a RL competition, and would give some great publicity to SL.

If anyone is interested, they could go to the World Interclub League website, www.worldinterclubleague.com to get a general overview of the competition which has starting its third season this year, or email webmaster@worldinterclubleague.com or send me a message in SL.

Anyhow, I hope its of interest to some SLers, I think it would be great fun and great promotion. If only I could play golf :-)
