Covering an entire region it is modelled after Cardiff Bay which features several times in the new series of Doctor Who being aired on BBC 1. The sim itself boasts the largest Sci-Fi mall in Second live with more than 100 vendors and space for over 30 more in the new revised rebuild of the mall.
THE MILLENIUM CENTRE
The Centre covers an area of just under 8000sqm and is the ONLY mall in Second Life to have the 4 major builders of TARDIS products in Second Life. NovaTech, Snook Industries, Hands of Omega and Hyperloom all have sattelite stores in the center, just follow the coloured lines from the entrance to find them. The other stores in the centre range from all different kinds of Sci-Fi and non sci-fi related items, from avatars, to ships to furniture and weapons, if your looking for it, odd's are the Centre has it.
There was a recent rebuild of the interior of the centre to give it a more open feel for visitors and shoppers looking around. The rebuild added over 40 new vendor spaces on the second and 3rd floor of the mall. With traffic inside the mall at over 150 unique visitors per day everyday it is Second Life's one stop shop for all things sci-fi and non sci-fi related. DOCTOR WHO EXPERIENCE - SERIES EVOLUTION
The Series Evolution museum tracks the history of the series from its inception to the end of the classic run in 1989. Featuring info and notecards about all of the basics of the show it is a good place to stop in if you want to get aquainted with the longest running sci-fi show on the planet.
The museum also boasts a console and exterior demo rezzer where visitors can look at the progression of the police box form and the main interior console from its beginnings in the 60's to the latest version from the new series.
TEMPORAL ARCHITECTS GIFT SHOP
The Doctor Who Experience staff has a lot of talented builders, scripters and texturers running and building up the region. The new gift shop is the latest addition to the sim which features ships, avatars, textures, and items (including the highly detailed Eye Of Harmony) from Doctor Who, Red Dwarf and Sci-Fi in general...the best thing? All the items are FREE! At the time of writing this article more than 25 items are on offer, from Dalek Avatars, Cyberman Avatars to ships and stations.
THE KATRINA REGION
The region itself has even more hidden attractions above the surface of the sim, with games like PrimWars and TechWars, models of gallifrey, the TARDIS Park, The Cinema and the Wales Museum.
