- Theme: "Time Travel". Feel free to interpret this as you will.
- Contestants may begin building on December 1, 2008. The contest will end on December 15, 2008 at midnight SL time. Judging will begin on December 16, 2008 as Judge's schedules permit. Awards will be placed no later than December 20, 2008..
- There will be two categories:
Includes sculpted prims: up to 100 prim
Excluding sculpted prims: up to 100 prim
- Top prize for each category will be L$3000. Second place winners will each receive L$1500, third place winners will each receive L$750. Honorable Mention sculptures will receive cash or prizes as yet undetermined
- Contestants must pre-register with Charlene Trudeau and a pad will be assigned accordingly. Please disclose your intention to use or not use sculpted prims as soon as possible. Pads will be color coded accordingly for judge’s convenience.
- One entry per contestant, total of 30 participants will be allowed.
- All entries are to fit within a 10mx10m pad and be no taller than 15m.
- All entries are to be textured with an ice texture. Any entry that appears
metallic, stone, etc, or is tinted a warm color or any color varying strongly
from naturally occurring ice will be penalized or disqualified during judging.
A box of free textures will be available at the SkyBeam Moving Waves landing point.
- Building must be done on site and be original work for this contest. A group will be assigned to you by Charlene Trudeau or Nevar Lobo at the time of registration. Works must remain exclusively displayed by the artist at the contest until winners are announced, but may be set for sale at your discretion.
- Scripting and particles are allowed within reason but should not interfere with the overall feel of an ice sculpture.
Contestants are urged to keep backup copies of their work in progress in case of accidental returns or other SL nonsense.
Judging will be handled by an independent panel of judges. The ownership of SkyBeam Estates will not be judging the contest nor will the ownership enter the competition. Judges will not be permitted to enter the contest.
