Just wanted to announce myself, hehe. I am new to SL but have hosted internet radio many times before.

The kind of music that I will be playing is mostly latin, caribbean, RnB, house and disco.

To specify even more:

- Latin: Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, Reggeaton, Samba

- Caribbean: Dancehall, Zouk

Perhaps some explanation is necessary..hehe.

Bachata is a music from the Dominican Republic. It is said to be some kind of country music even though it does not sound like that at all. It is a romantic and kind of slow type of music. The text is usually about lost love and heartbreak. Awww.

Merengue. Guess I could almost say it is the opposite of bachata, haha. Fast paced and uplifting. Feels in a way as double the speed bachata. A lot of merengue comes from the Dominican Republic but also from many other latin american countries.

Salsa comes from many places in latin america and is probably known by most.

Reggeaton is a kind of latin hip hop. Usually quite rough but very melodic. I like it more than rap.

Samba is from Brazil. I have a little bit of that and a little bit of this...hehe.

Dancehall is originally from Jamaica. It is similar to ragga style music I think but meant for the danceclubs....maybe hence the name "dancehall" music. Typical dancehall is Sean Paul, Elephant man, Kat de Luna ("wine up";) and others.

Zouk is from the french caribbeans, like Haiti, but is also being played at former french colonies in Africa...like in Senegal. Very soothing and romantic music. Even if I don't almost understand a word...haha.

I just started DJ:ing at a club called "Midnight Rendezvous". I am also trying out at Sparrows any day now.

So join thoose groups if you want to be sure to get the best of it!
