We are thrilled to be exhibiting the watercolor works of Skarat Lefebvre here at Remembering our Friends on Sunset Arts II. Please if you have time come down and see his works, he is one of my all time favorite artists in Second life! His exhibit will be up until March 30th.

More about him:

Skarat (pronounced Ska Rat) got his name from a surreal cartoon character/ hero of a half finished novel he created years ago... Ska like the Jamcian music, Rat like the rodent. the works in this exhibit, are primarily in watercolors, inks and pen. This exhibit is a retrospective of the artists work. This is his 3rd show in Second Life
The cube picture is a mobile and can be animated by clicking on various parts of the painting.

In his own words:
"For me it is intersting to see how my style of drawing from my older abstract picures carries on into later landscapes. My earliest drawings involved quick sketches followed by painstaking highlighting of the details of the lines.
In any case I can see how the technique of my ealier cruder cube drawings carrries over in to my later work... I am fascinated how the style of earlier work evolves into the landscapes I have been working on recently. My style of drawing is all about quick sketches and tracing the lines to bring out the details of those lines.
In other words, I look at these paintings and I see how I learned to draw and continue to learn. I belive good art happens primarily because we enjoy making it.
All of my art has been made soley with the amateurish goal of enjoying the process of making it. Please enjoy.. "
