This week The Sims Online closed, after nearly 6 years of intensive if only niche use by a dedicated community, some of whom emigrated to SL. Avatars lost their inventory, their world, their homes, their friends -- themselves. What sort of rights do avatars have in this situation, and how can they prevent such losses? And are worlds and their content even necessary to keep an online community together and successful? Does SL have enough to sustain its own current loss of business? Come for our regular meeting at the Sutherland Dam!
