Note:
Class 4 islands are older than class 5 and run a bit slower; they may lag if there are lots of scripts or avatars. May be most suitable if you will control all the scripts on the sim; perhaps less suitable for situations where you will rent out parcels and tenants can run arbitrary scripts. However, the monthly billing is $US 195/month for class 4 islands instead of $US 295/month for class 5 islands. Class 4 islands are no longer available directly from Linden Lab and can only be bought when an existing one is sold by another resident.
Note:
If you buy a class 4, you will inherit the grandfathered $195/month tier. However, you ***RUN THE RISK*** that Linden Lab may choose, at any time in the future without warning, to end grandfathered monthly billing of $195/month and raise prices, like they did with openspaces. This is outside of my or your control.
Note:
In Second Life, all island transfers are done using support tickets with Linden Lab as the go-between, so there is no risk involved. Buyer does not pay seller directly: Linden Lab performs both the island transfer and the money transfer, simultaneously.

Linden Lab states that island transfers usually take between 5-10 business days, but sometimes take longer.
