The L$250 payment to "buy" the land only reserves the parcel for 48 hours during which time the first tier payment must be made or else the land may be reclaimed. Due to SecondLife limitations it is not possible to deed land to a group directly. If you wish to deed land to a group, please IM Matthew Dowd to arrange this.
Residential parcels have a double prim bonus and incur a tier cost at a weekly rate of L$1250 for 1024sqm parcels (468 prims), and L$700 for 512sqm parcels (234 prims).
