You pay tier directly to the Lindens of $195/month - a full US$100 less than the current $295/month for exactly the same thing from the land store.
Don't think of this island as in any sense secondhand. It is full class 5, the same as you can now buy in the land store.
In fact, the Linden's don't associate any particular class 5 island permanently with any particular physical server box, being able to swap them around within the same class as and when they need. So it's not just as good as a new one, it's the same.
I will return to the linden's my totally empty sim, and I will pay them $100 to set up yours at a grid location chosen by you, with a name chosen by you. So in every sense this is equivalent to buying a "new" one on the land store tonight for US$1000.
Except that you pay US$100 per month less tier to the Lindens if you buy mine instead.
At the time of the big increase in tier a while back, the Lindens froze the tier for existing islands at the existing level, and I can transfer this huge benefit to you. A 33.9% discount on the monthly tier. This is the meaning of the term "grandfathered". The Linden's can confirm that this is indeed the tier you will pay, at the time we arrange the transfer.
These grandfathered sims don't come up that often, and are much sought after when they do because they are obviously so much more profitable for any commercial use.

It just involves each of us "raising a ticket" and is absolutely safe for both parties. If you like, we can meet in world and raise our tickets together - i'll step you through it.
If you are new to island ownership I will be happy to show you the ropes on the extra controls you get, once the tickets are raised. We can either use Paradox for the purpose (the island's current identity) or I'll happily come over to your new island to help.
The billing date for the tier is the 27th, and this will remain unchanged. I have paid tier until then and you will have the benefit of this.
I'ts pretty irrelevant, but go have a look at Paradox if you like - I shall be emptying and flattening it imminently.
I'm looking for the best offer, but bear in mind that these islands go for significantly more than the $1000-new-price. If, for instance, you were lucky enough to get it for U$1300, then you would have profited by US$100 after only four months ownership, $300 after 6 months, $500 after 8 months, etc etc. compared with buying in the land store and paying the required US$295 tier.
No land in this sim has ever been rented out. No-one has been ejected to enable this sale.
