What is Tier Rental?

Tier Rental utilizes groups for a far less expensive way to own mainland. Tier is the ability to own mainland, and tier is best thought of as a commodity completely separate from the land itself.
NinjaLand rents tier for 0.25 per sqm per week. This can be a serious & substantial savings over Linden Lab charges for a premium account ($9.95USD monthly) plus land fees. This is a link to SL's land fee structure: http://secondlife.com/whatis/landpricing.php
Groups receive a 10% tier bonus. For the land novice, this seems very confusing, but put simply it means you can rent 466sqm of tier to own 512sqm of land in a group.
A Step by Step Example:
----------------------------
You find a perfect 3072sqm parcel of land that you wish to own. To buy this through normal channels, you'll have to become a premium account which is a minimum of $6USD monthly (if you pay an annual membership fee of $72USD). You'd also have to pay $25USD monthly in land fees for the 4096sqm tier level.
If you go the tier rental route, you would rent 2793sqm of tier in order to own 3072sqm of land. The rental rate is L$698/week or L$3025/calendar month. This is roughly $11.42USD per month to own 3072sqm.
You'd save $19.58USD over Linden Lab fees.

Tier Rental Process
----------------------
1) Create a group, and create a role with no powers whatever.
2) IM Skye Whitcroft to find out which alt will donate tier to your group.*
3) Invite NinjaLand Rental alt into your group, and they donate tier
4) Pay tier rental to Elanthius Flagstaff
5) Find land and use "buy for group" option to purchase it.
*We often run out of groups so we have many alts for both land and tier rental.
