Most of my furnitures will fit most sims (contemporary/medieval/gor) and rarely exceed 30 prims.
All the sittable furnitures use the excellent script from Pierro Padar, which means no poseballs (just right click the furn and sit. For two person furns, both right click and sit and ..er.. for 3 person ones well... the 3 persons right click and... yea you guessed), fully adjustable poses (furnitures will remember up to the 50 most regular sitters with their own settings, no need to adjust each time you sit), and auto turns off the listeners when the furn isn't in use, for a minimum lag.
Most of the animations are high quality ones (Bit's n Bobs, Pillows Talk, LostDog etc), and some furns, as my Hamock and Throne, will allow 3 persons together.
Only exception, script-wise, are the few MLP beds displayed in the store. Those are basic mlp scripts, click, select the pose on the menu, it rezzes the poseballs.
