RL online businesess anyone do it?

For many months b4 SL i was trowling through the millions of Online Self Employed businesess available.

Needless to say, the info I was bombarded with sent me off in the opposite direction. Phonecalls became some-thing I dreaded and my mail box was packed with promises of riches with very little effort

I have tried the 'paid per click' self employed places the guy i found was paying me & my friend also a SL resident aprox $200 per few hours but you may know...it never came.

Sad thing is he told me he had a chap in Russia makin $1000 - $2000 a week

Not sure if this chap ever DID get paid but I worked 2 shifts before I got emails saying the rules had changed and before I knew it that $200 became very hard to make. And i stopped working the $500 he owed me never materialised and his website poofed.

I joined the survey clique and to be fair I DID make some money $100 in a prize draw and the odd $10 - $2.50 for 10 - 30 mins work.

The trick with surveys is you have to register with as many of them as possible...they advise upto 250 and that was time consuming...I managed 50 and although I stopped doing them 7 mths ago I won $5 today in my paypal acct from one I apparently did...

So to say I only joined 50 and I think I made about $250 in total and only stuck with it for a few weeks isnt so bad
The problem I had was I wasnt US the real money is for ppl in the US

But the $25 I paid for the list of survey Cos I made back very quickly.

I looked at more serious ventures bigger investments...but by now my trust was low...all Multi Level Marketing Cos will tell you anything to get you on board as YOUR the product.

So Im asking...are there any ppl HERE who are proof that there ARE money making online businesess?

I am currently a self employed marketing consultant and earn aprox twenty pounds an hour but the work is kinda unreliable...comes in bits and it bores me to tears in all fairness.

My real passion is my store in SL ...if I could rely on the income THAT is bringing in I'd be a very happy girl...its not 20 pounds an hour but its enough for something that I enjoy so much but with the fact GOM have said they are no longer in business I'm thinking its time to get real again...virtual businesses arent to be relied on after all. Its a bonus but not a career.

My history is sales & marketing but am at home due to health problems...I KNOW marketing selling and all things related and am not apposed to paying into a business venture if I can see the proof that it pays back given enough time & commitment,

so anyone? lol

There is a group in SL called "RL in SL" or something along that lines, that is devoted to those who do (or want to do?) RL business in the SL world. That may be a good group to seek out and ask questions.

Also, I know that Avalon is a RL business that is successful in SL. And that company did not start in SL. The new Fargo sim (closed to the public) would probably also be an example of RL business in SL. But it is too soon to know if that project will be successful I think.

And of course there are those who started their business within SL, and are making a RL income. When LL implements their L$ exchange service in world, people will once again be able to trade L$ for RL dollars. There is also still IGE and AnsheChung.com that offer this service.

At any rate, I would contact the "RL in SL"name??) group in world and see if that is a group that can be of help to you in your research!
