"Hi Torley,

Please help! Got a new Mac Pro, and its great, can have all the high settings on, rippled water, shiney etc.. Getting 70 FPS. But everytime I teleport anywhere graphics get so messed up. Theres a few people having the same problem in the Mac forums on here.

I went to the apple store, and they checked it out for me and said that Lindens will need to do a fix for it, and that the problems on this end not theirs. Live help told me to update my drivers, but you dont do that with macs.

I'm having lindens plants appear purple, Linden stone textures appearing multi coloured, bottom terrain textures appear as the top one, along with loads of other crashes and strange texture bugs. It's even stranger that the textures appearing, I dont even have in my inventory.

I'm a developer, and I've just spent a small fortune on a PC that should run SL at optinum level, but this makes it very hard to work.

I've attatched some screenshots of textures bugs so you can see. Go to Total Bliss island to see what things really should look like.

Can you please tell me if Lindens are aware of this yet? I know the new mac pro has only been out a few weeks. Is there a fix in the pipeline?"

That is a flaw with a mac about the drivers really if they dont update the drivers regularly and a game advances what is going to happen really? There are driver updates for a reason for Graphics cards and there in lies a problem with macs :P. Nvidia doesnt make drivers for Mac's but thats likely because mac's dont support it.

Your system sounds pretty good but again its still a Mac while they may be better at certain things then a PC gaming is not one of their strong suites sadly. Im not bashing macs they do have their strengths. I'd in all honesty complain to the company and try to get them to support upgrading drivers for certain things. Im not sure how Mac's in all honesty handle that stuff. Its just like kind of silly when you consider that Nvidia supports Linux and Windows alike and then cuz of Mac's stand nvidia cant work on fixes for the drivers for the cards in a mac.

Yeah LL will need to make a fix for it but if macs handled how they operated in that sense better it wouldnt really be as necessary. Alright i just ran a check as well..... and eek 2 (dula core xeon's) >>>> more of a work station then a gaming computer >.>. I also notice that apple used to support some driver updates for Graphics cards..... Not sure about that really its not a bad system but without proper support for graphics stuff i dunno what Mac is thinking in that retrospect..... Basically you gotta use the drivers that Apple makes for the mac's fun stuff lol. I'd say the linden's are likely to fix it if it is a wide spread problem!!!
