...but I can't, of course, see the forums to see where this game is at these days in order to see if it's worth it without reupping my account.
I played a pirate named Corvus Drake. Looks like the character still shows on the server, even after 8 months. I have this irritating habit of quitting once the game goes damn near totally PvE and then returning when I hear PvP is resurging, so my character is 3 years old but with only about 7-8 million skill points and a -7.6 security rating.
What I'm trying to decide, is whether or not I should bother reupping my EVE-Online account. I truly loved the game, but the patches are so buggy that everything always seems to slant badly against the PvP element.
Can anyone tell me what features have been added in the last 8 months or so and how the game is going, including the lag?

I was talking to a friend of mine who used to play EVE, and what made him leave was the constant interference of the company, changing fundamental parameters. People complain about LL doing that but this sounded an awful lot worse. It was something about drones, I think, that was the last straw....

From: Ordinal Malaprop I was talking to a friend of mine who used to play EVE, and what made him leave was the constant interference of the company, changing fundamental parameters. People complain about LL doing that but this sounded an awful lot worse. It was something about drones, I think, that was the last straw.... What they did with drones, because of rediculous server lag caused by them, was cut the quantity of them that any one ship can deploy in half, but then double their strength and firepower. Lots of PvPers hated that, because if a pilot left his auto-targetter on, it would often lock on its max target count on all teh drones attacking it and the attacking ship could fire on its target without risk. Now, only uber-drone carriers can mount that many, so if you can target jam or destroy that half count of drones, or even tank them, you can still get at the launching ship. *personally, I liked that patch. Edit: But you're right. They rework the rules a good bit trying to keep it balanced, but mostly because the entire game is on only one cluster and they have to minimize lag.
