I was told that Europeans were not able to play on North American WoW servers. I am skeptical about this. Can anyone clarify? I have a friend in England, and we would like to play together, but don't want them to waste money if we cannot play together. Any info will be much appreciated and thanks in advance if you can help.

I don't think you can since US players don't see the Euro servers, I would assume same is true other way around. There may be some ways around it but I don't know.

You need to buy a box from the corresponding region and futz with the registration credit card stuff to play on the other side. And even then you have two accounts and such. You don't need any proxies or anything like that, just a boxed copy of the game from the corresponding region and a creditcard that's from the region, I believe. Europeans played American WoW for months while waiting for the EU version to be released. Also Blizzard has stated that they're working on allowing people from both regions to play together, I don't know if there's a fix yet. (knowing blizzard your best bet is: no ) And don't play WoW. It's evil, sucks your soul out, and makes babies cry. Think of the babies.

Afraid so, still no access to the US servers from Euroland, which is a shame because there are SL friends over the left hand side of the pond that I'd love to go WoWing with

Thanks all for the responses. To clarify, I am in the US, and I have been a WoW member since beta. My account is currently "frozen", as I stopped playing because most of my RL and SL friends got addicted and out-leveled me by dozens of levels... so I had no one of my level range to play with. I have a friend in England, and she wants to play WoW with me, so I was thinking that I would reactivate my account. Calvin, if I buy her a copy of WoW here in the US, and send it to her (or if she gets one by mail order from the US), can she pay the monthly fee with a UK addressed credit card, or will I have to set her up on my card as an extra account here in the states? thanks again!
