How do you get messages to your friends in world, when you are at work and cant access SL or your freakin emails, oh and you cant do it at home because your internet provider hads screwed up?

There's now, apparently, an IRC gateway application. So you could use Trillian, join an IRC channel at work, and your avatar would be logged in at home, relaying IM's and chat to the IRC channel.

Cool, eh?

ok... how do I do it and how do I figure out how to bypass the firewall and the other crap they do to my internet here? they block "unsuitable" pages - my hotmail included.

Spoke to my boss about lifting the ban on Yahoo and Hotmail email access, and was told that it cant be done because the emails sent to free addresses always contain viruses.

My reply was along the lines of "WTF are you talking about, "Free" email accounts virus check attatchments and warn you if there is one. And the virus depends on the system of the person sending it to you NOT the type of email provider you are accessing" he just looked at me and told me to get back to work and stop being argumentative. Please tell me I was actually right.... Surely I am not that blonde ROFL
