Undeterred by the recent Supreme Court ruling that said he couldn't prosecute "enemy combatants" in violation of Geneva Conventions, international law and US law, Bush is drafting a NEW law. And this one is a good un. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060728/ap_on_go_pr_wh/detainee_rights;_ylt=AiIAIyD_2N_3tlfisNBk9uqyFz4D;_ylu=X3oDMTA0cDJlYmhvBHNlYwM-

From: someone The administration's proposal, as considered at one point during discussions, would toss out several legal rights common in civilian and military courts, including barring hearsay evidence, guaranteeing "speedy trials" and granting a defendant access to evidence. The proposal also would allow defendants to be barred from their own trial and likely allow the submission of coerced testimony. Finally. They're bringing the legal process pioneered in Neufreistadt to the real world. ~Ulrika~

Okay.
I'm going to formally join the ranks of the "I voted for the man, but I wish I hadn't".
What GW has been doing and saying lately has even got the Conservatives scratching their heads and saying "What the hell?"
He ran, and was elected, on a Conservative platform, but has proceeded to make a complete mockery of everything his party stands for. Personally, I'm sick of it.

Congrats for finally seeing the darkness at the end of the tunnel. It takes a lot to admit something like that.
Many republicans have joined you in seeing it.

Many republicans have joined you in seeing it. It's not the first time the public has been fooled. It won't be the last. I find myself very distrubed that no politician I could vote for espouses the ideals I believe in. Where's the party that wants personal freedom but personal responsibility, small government, RADICAL SSI, welfare, and medical reform, even more radical energy reform, and a foreign policy that doesn't involve getting ourselves tied up in foreign wars in two different countries? And why the frack can't our old people buy drugs that they can afford? If the drug companies sell them for half the price in Canada, why don't they sell them for that price here? Isn't there some law about price fixing?

Many republicans have joined you in seeing it. And most that haven't refuse to discuss politics: not because they would lose an argument, but because they are embarassed and engrossed in guilt.

Have you seen their party platform? All across the nation they stopped into towns and promoted that right to make Moosylvania the 51st state of the USA. Signatures were collected along the way, while Ward and company whipped up the Moosylvanian manifesto, which stated such doctrines as: * State aid from the U.S. in the amount of eighteen billion dollars and four cents (They insist the government pay for the postage of its own check). * The chief spokesperson is Governor Bullwinkle Moose. * Moosylvania will present a daily program appealing to the public's love of audience participation shows, games of chance, and violence. * The government will be set up using a strict two-party system. One party will start at nine and the other at eleven thirty. Both will break at five a.m..
