Sorry completely out to lunch and some what tongue in cheek.

I happened to be looking at new items the other day ( as you do ) and saw a 50 megaton nuke being sold, this got me to thinking.

( I do not have and have never used a nuke in SL before I start )

How do you define megaton in terms of SL ?

I mean a 1 megaton (RL) bomb is approx 80 times bigger than than those used during WWII
and will destroy anything within about a 1.7mile(2.7km) radius

A 25 megaton bomb will take out everything within roughly 6.5 miles (10.4 km)

A 50 megaton bomb ( there was a Russian one called the Tsar Bomba ) will produce a cloud 64km high, a thermal blast of over 200km , and will destroy virtually everything within about 20miles (32 km) ( results are still out on that one )

So what is a megaton in SL -

Let's take it a normal bomb will blow up a mall, or a house and a 1 megaton ( the smallest I assume ) will take out everything in a sim - does that mean a 50 megaton nuke will destroy everything within about a 30 sim radius, with the effects seen all over the grid, with a cool 64km high particle cloud ?

If the 50Megaton bomb only ( as I suspect ) takes out a sim like a measly little 1 megaton bomb - what do I get with my extra 49 megatons ?

Why don't I go to Dave's bargain basement and pick up 50 cheap and nasty 1 megaton bombs instead of getting a shiny new 50 megaton one ?

I think the weapons manufacturers should reveal all.....what do we get for our mega tonnage ?
( Apart from suspension/banned that is )
