Another thread was comparing Second LifeĀ® to other games which got me wondering about still other games. I first though of Pong but thought that an unfair comparison as Magnavox's Odessey game pong-before-pong was the first consumer electionic video game, so I added another game of more recent vintage for balance. I thought others might be interested in my comparsion:

There's around 1000 sims, not 400. :)

About 400 is close to 1000, for sufficiently large values of "close". ;)

I could never go back to pong, they haven't had a successful update in over 30 years and I got tired of waiting for them to come out with a version where I could wear prim hair.

I heartily enjoyed the Magnavox Odyssey when I was a kid. My dad bought it when it came out and it was a blast. It wasn't just pong, either. With the various plastic overlays you could tape to your tv screen, you could play a whole lot of games.

Thanks for bringing this up, Malachi.

Can anyone truly resist that wood-grainoid adhesive vinyl? I mean it's like a marvel of moderrn techonology but made "homey" by that Ford Fairlane faux station-wagon touch. Alas, I only had one of those stark, spartan black 2600 joysticks, but man, think of how much more "mediterranean" a little faux wood grain would have made it?! I really missed out and lust for one of those Odysseys.

But I shall not be denied!

Locking doors

If you want to split hairs, you can script-lock a door, or lock the prim itself.

So...

Tie. ^_^
