Dr Offers free abortions for Hurricane victims. A permanent solution to a short term problem nice. Hopefully we can get someone to offer free assisted suicides also.

What's the big deal?

Do you disagree with all abortions or just the free ones?

I don't get your point.

Yeah, but what about those women out there who have an amount of pride and would prefer to PAY for their abortions no matter how bad it got for them?

I disagree with tacking advantage of people in a crisis situation.

It's not like he's talking people into getting abortions.

I suppose he could just charge double the normal price and do it in the back alley with a coathanger.

The offer sounds a bit frivolous. I suppose the doctor may actually want to do his part to help those in need. However, the "free... for hurricane victims" part kinda implies that medical proceedures are equal to a free cup of coffee or baseball cap. It just seems weird.

I agree, it seems to be trivializing a serious procedure.

whats being a victim of a hurricane got to do with abortions? O.o Shouldn't they focus on something else more important?

Well. I am anti-abortion, but can tolerate it if the government (state or federal) is *not* paying for it. So. In this case, I would be supportive of the doctor that is trying to help out those who are currently unable to pay for themselves

From reading the article, the goal seems to be to prevent late-term abortions. As someone who subscribes to utilitarianism, it would seem the doctor's solution is the lesser of two evils especially when one considers it's being done without cost.

It's So Clear...

You guys just don't get it do you? It's so clear! Think about it. The majority of the victims of Katrina were BLACK! So who would be getting the free abortions? BLACK WOMEN! Clearly this guy has been listening to the Bill Bennett show and is doing his part to cull the blacks in America.

Now, if this guy was wearing a GOP shirt, you all would have come to this conclusion on your own.

There were a *lot* of rapes in the overblown melee after the hurricane. I can see someone who can't afford it wanting to get an abortion for that.

Oh, you mean all those rapes that never happened? Right up there with the murders that never happened, too.
