If the Cyclops can forge things to help Zeus defeat Cronus, then you can probably bribe them to make something that will let you defeat Zeus. Why sacrifice things to gods when you can sell them to the poorer classes and turn a profit?

And why slay ALL the suitors? Wouldn't it be more profitable to hold a few for ransom?

Arete!

No! Areté is subservient to logic!

(At least until Aristotle stops looking in this direction.)

Okay, he's gone. Areté is subservient to sophia!

(Go AWAY, Gorgias.)

One thing I was thinking about a little while ago. Cronus--doesn't cronus mean time? I mean, that's how we get words such as chronological, etc. And Zeus (or Dias in Greek), son of Cronus--doesn't dias mean something like two entities coming together, becoming one? I was thinking of words such as dialogue, diameter, etc. Now, if that's the case, does that mean that the Greeks essentially believed that time rules everything and that its immediate product was the coming together of separate entities, perhaps even birth itself, the birth of the universe(???) Some wild assumptions I made there--hehe. But if that's true, then it's waaayyy cool

From Wikipedia: Kronus is not to be confused with Chronos, the personification of time. Check out the link to find more out about Cronus. It's interesting. :)

Who the hell is Chronos? And why does he have (almost) the same name as Cronus?

The only real challenge here is to figure out who sired Eros. I think there were three possible pairs.

And Zeus (or Dias in Greek)

huh. Everything I read has this alternate name mentioned as a reconstructed Indo-European Sky-God, which supposedly became Zeus in Greece and Dyaus Pita in India.

I remember that too.

Kronos is an acceptable English spelling for Klingon homeworld.

Anyone else remember that ol' Hercules cartoon? It had this strikingly limited color palette which gave it a distinct air.
