You left Madonna off the list. She changes her style every five years or so.

That's funny--I originally had her on the list but replaced it with pie.

Beatles for sure.
John Lennon and George Harrison solo work in particular.

From: Alazarin Mondrian Frank Zappa.... ran rings around everyone and parodied everything. Good call. I sure wish I could have more choices than 10 in the polls...

Out of this list, I'd have to say David Bowie.

My first thoughts were Madonna and Metallica.
Metallica have everything from light rock to thrash metal to country( to classical (S&M). Madonna for the reasons stated above.

Faith No More.
However, in most cases I think that having a great variation in styles is not a good thing for a band. Every band needs a direction, which cannot be every direction at once.

I don't know anything about alot of the people on this list. How can you leave off Tim MacGraw/Chris Gaines? Jon Bon Jovi doing country now?

Of those in your poll I chose Thomas Dolby but King Crimson is close. Of other artists I'd have to go with Joe Jackson. He's reinvented himself on almost every album and has done everything from punk to classical.
