Well, there have been two ineresting developments in the naming of my cute little cockatiel. Those who participated in or read the previous thread no doubt remember that naming this bird was a fun challenge, and in the end it was the bird himself who selected the final winner from the list. Well, it turns out that that winner wasn't so final. First, the bird tired of the word "Neelix" after about two days, and now no longer responds to it in any way. Second, it turns out he's a she. By chance, we happen to have one of only a couple hundred board certified avian veteranarians in practice in the entire country right here in the Buffalo area, Dr. Adamcak, and she said in her expert opinion that this bird is a female. There's no sure way to tell without a blood test (which seems like a waste of blood and money to me), but the visual evidence supports the fairer sex in this case. The doctor did say that the more ornate the bird, the harder it is to tell, and that this is one of the most ornate cockatiels she's ever seen, so there's a chance she's mistaken, but I think I'm going to trust her on this one. She seemed to know what she was talking about. So, the name game is back on. Now, armed with the knowledge that this adorable little ball of feathery fluff is a chick in more ways than one, who can think of that perfect name? I really need help here. Can the SL community save the day?
