Finally we have something to cheer for in the South Side of Chicago. The 2005 Chi Sox have completed what I believe to be one of the most memorable moments in Chicago Sports History(aka 2nd to the immortal 1985 Bears). For you Cubs fans out there, does it hurt, maybe just a little!

He's talking about the White Sox winning the World Series. Should be in offtopic but he's prolly too overjoyed to care/notice.

One question dough: Anyone know what "Street Light People" refers to in the Joourney song "Don't Stop Believing"?

Right before this line, Steve Perry sings
Strangers, waiting... up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night...
After the line you are inquiring about,
Streetlight people... living just to find emotion
he continues,
Hiding, somewhere in the night...
I would be lead to believe that Perry is inferring that these people, who are striving for "emotion" (love, acceptance, etc) are being compared to bright points of light in an otherwise shadowy, dark blanket of night.
This can be compared metaphorically to the pinpoint of orange (in the case of high-pressure sodium lighting) or blue-white (in the case of mercury vapor lighting) or high-kelvin white (in the case of metal halide lighting) streetlights when viewed from afar.
The only critique I'd have of his imagery is that streetlights are generally grouped in a row, with other streetlights, in populated and otherwise residentially-lit areas. They are usually not "hiding somewhere in the night".
Perhaps a more apt comparison would be the warning beacons that are installed on radio towers per FAA regulations, but that would be a real bitch to rhyme.

It is so odd to have people paying attention to the White Sox. I don't know any White Sox fans even though I live on the south side. Everyone I know in Chicago is a Cubs fan. It will be interesting if winning the world series helps them sell tickets. My vote is not, and since more than 1/2 the team won't be back next year, I really doubt it. Enjoy it while you can. I will take my losing team with the awesome historic field in a safe enviroment where the beer flows like water.
Anyway, Baseball sucks. Watching paint dry is more thrilling than watching Baseball.
Go Bears!

Haha! You people (for that is what you are, unless you want to debate that) will mention the one puny Super Bowl victory of the Bears as though that is all Chicago's sports teams have done in the last twenty years, while forgetting the six championships of the Chicago Bulls. I dribble on your grave!
