Based on interviews with the homeowners and no evidence of cultivation efforts or opium collection (all pods were unincised), the agents determined there was no criminal intent (apparently, the homeowners merely appreciated the appearance of the flowers, and were unaware of the legal status of opium poppies).

I am so using this excuse if my ornamental peyote plantation is discovered.
