Tonight I was experimenting with a new web analysis program to analyze the traffic information for the SLuniverse web site, and I came across something odd. At first I thought it was a bizarre flaw in the program, until I dug a little deeper and realized what was causing it.

Looking at the OS breakdown of visitors to the site, it said that 48% were using MacOS in the past week. The average hovers usually around 10% or so - never much higher than that. Then I looked at the referral information and realized something: never underestimate the power of half naked avatars.

The reason for the surge in Mac viewership is that someone posted a message in the AppleSwitcher.com forums called The Return of the iMac girl - which among other things, contained an image of the iMac girl as SL avatar, and link to an album filled with pictures of a bunch of half naked iMac girls known as the iKitty Squad.

Canimal Zephyr's album now has the dubious honor of being the most viewed so far on the site - it has been viewed over 1500 times.
