hello, and welcome back, y'all... :) life feeling pretty decent tonight for myself; i hope the very same for y'all too, especially if you've been a bit down-and-out the past few months as i have... 'the secret is -bang the rocks together, guys!-' :) oh no, wait... more like, 'the secret is to deliver pizza for a local, non-commercially-oriented, gourmet restaurant'...:) looks to be better money than even doing computer work!! :) at least, around here...)

okay, to get sl-centric now, here's a most interesting thread i came across tonight:
/111/9e/46003/1.html
The Lag Monster Myths

hummmmm, a very interesting thread - now, lsl is an 'on-the-fly' language, isn't it; the scripts aren't pre-compiled into something else for use through the overall sl 'shell', correct? sooooo, actually, it makes perfect sense to me that 300/400+ scripts, no matter how minute, would cause a sim to crawl... but maybe i don't understand what or why all those scripts are running there. didn't crawl through all the messages yet to really gather the circumstances together...

that being said... 'if a script falls in a forest, but nobody's around to hear it, does it make a sound??' :) but that presumes that the host computer can ignore the script, but it can't - the 'universe' has to run the script, no matter what, to see what results from the script. i can see the conundrum... just can't come up with a good suggestion.

oh well... on to more controllable events; just now rewatching 'rock and rule' from the newly-released dvs... does anyone else also find the sequence just post club 666 ('dear angel... sing... or THEY FRYYYYYY!!') - when angel screams 'stooooOOOOOOOPPPPP!!!!' - the movie totally kicks into mok-overdrive?? :) and that scream that angel does is completely chilling... always makes my hair stand up on end...

okay, now must take a pause, as 'my name is mok' is now on... :) 'fact, i'll have to make that the 'lyric post' of the night!! :) how 'bout this; i found the 'full lyrics' to the song, including at least half not in the movie! anyone who can point me to an album that contains this full version gets extra brownie-points from me tonight... :)

"My Name Is Mok" (alternate extended version) - Lou Reed

My name is Mok, thanks a lot
I know you love the thing I got
You've never seen the likes of me
why I'm the biggest thing since World War III, girls

(His name is Mok, thanks a lot)
(you think he's acting, but he's not)

My name is Mok, and I'm on fire
I'm the match and I'm the pyre
I'm the voodoo black musician priest
why I'm the greatest thing since World War III, girls

(You think he's acting, but he's not)
(his name is Mok, thanks a lot)

My name is Mok, thanks a lot
I'm the power Sodom used on Lot
I am the pillar, ha-ha-ha-ha, I am the snake
I'm a beat that makes you shake

Why I'm the top, the point, the end
I'm more than a lover and more than a friend
I am the power of pure desire
my magic will take you higher

Than you've ever been before
so follow me beyond the door
Of the stupid hopes and dreams you've got
My name is Mok, thanks a lot, girls

(His name is Mok, thanks a lot)
(you think he's acting, but he's not)
(The show that you're about to see)
(in the absolutely finest greatest
wonderment since World War III)

My name is Mok, thanks a lot
just wait till you see what I have got
There is nothing up my sleeve
come look at this, there's nothing compared to me

I am the killer, I am the source
and you will worship me, of coarse!
I'm the oracle, I'm the seer, the wit
there is no question that I am it, ha-ha-ha

I know what you've been waiting for
and you won't have to wait no more
Cause history reveals my friend, it reveals one thing
there's only one beginning and one end

There's only one, you're one and only is there not
my name is Mok and thanks a lot, hey girls

(His name is Mok, so thanks a lot)
(he looks so cool, but he's hot)
(His name is Mok, so thanks a lot)
(you think he's acting, but he's not)

My name is Mok, thanks a lot
my name is Mok, thanks a lot
My name is Mok, thanks a lot
my name is Mok, ha-ha, thanks a lot
My name is Mok, thanks a lot
my name is Mok, thanks a lot
My name is Mok, thanks a lot
thank you, thank you, thank you ...

okay, there's my lil' musical tidbit contribution for the eve'nin' again... hope y'all are having a good one, and write down any crazy shee-it you got on yer mind tonight. :) so until next time boyz'n'girlz... remember what unca'mikey sez: 'goo'bye, an' beeeee good!!' ('good-bye, uncle mikey...' ohhh, poor lil' zip... :)

10-15-2005 19:42
goes to show how my month is going... lost my 'net connection the other night (expectedly, as i had put it at low priority for catching up on payments... new job going well, but one week isn't enough to rectify everything quick enough...)

wellll, and as is, not much 'ot' action happening anyways, eh? :) keep on keepin' on, ev'rybody - i'll come back soon; things -should- be back to some sembilence of normality by the end of the month. :) take care, y'all!! :)
