The LSL Guide has a number of characteristics that challenge text to speech programs, the way that function names are done is one example: "llSetText" doesn't look like English to most text to speech programs.

What would the best language for making a large number of conversions such as converting "llSetText" to "ll Set Text" and a number of other sorts of conversions to yield a correctly and sensibly pronoucable file for a text to speech program?

I'm thinking Perl. It's great for text editing, and these sorts of weird little jobs.

well I do have a copy of perl with a primitive sort of gui even but - I'm sure this is a solve problems in some respect.

Perl is not my area of expertise, if you know what I mean.

Plus some thought about what sorts of changes should be made would be useful

How should one have "{" and "}" read - "begin" and "end" or "start block" and "end block" or what?

Hee Hee, I have the Opera web browser's text to speech reading all the LSL function definitions, that section of the LSL guide is not quite as hard for the tts engine to as soom,
but it reads the function names as l l tan and l l sin and so on, the run on words make it give up.
