Samsung Has pled guilty to price fixing DRAM prices from 1999 to 2003.

While 300 million dollars seems like a hefty fine, I wonder what the profit was from this.

My guess it's much higher.

Does this mean RAM will be coming down in price?

As expensive as RAM can still be, I'm amazed, recalling a time when 1 meg cost $1000 US.

I paid for 512k for my Apple IIgs in the late 80's/early 90's... cost over $200.

A couple weeks ago I paid for 512MB for my HP Pavilion... cost $79.

I'm sort of a noob when it comes to RAM purchases. I paid 25 bucks a mb for 30 pin modules. I had to upgrade to 4mb (from 1mb) to get an old 386 to run AOL 2.5. :D

What are the chances that we're going to see some of this money? A victim gets a feeling of justification when a rapist is sentenced longer than a murderer. When companies get a slap on the wrist, I don't feel anything. Argyle. Especially when I payed out the ass for ram for years.
