One of my favorite bands. ^_^

But what's going on in New Orleans is more tragic than hip...

Has anyone heard from Billy Grace?

Dosen't Billy live in New Orleans?

My heart goes out to everyone there and on the gulf coast. Sadly, this was one sneeky bitch of a storm that a lot of people who were hurricane experienced thought they could ride out - so they stayed.

That song makes me sad because I cannot help but think of all the history and culture that is being washed away as the flood waters climb. :( :(

I think Billy Grace is in Jacksonville FL Rose. This is indeed a tragedy.

Eh, you should have seen the slashdot article on this. One scientist actually predicted this, because a previous hurricane narrowly missed them.

What I really loved was one of the comments...

"I might take this opportunity to point out that all our troubles are the fault of the French. Yes, the FRENCH.
If those French colonists hadn't chosen such a poor location to found a city in 1718, we wouldn't be flooded right now!

Hehe... maybe true.

But, there is part of the city that isn't flooded, and I think the news said it was the "historic" area or something? Maybe the area they picked was mostly fine, but the city grew into stupid regions? So... it sounds like it might be our own fault really if that's correct.... but we can blame them anyway. Why not right? :p

But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

On the other hand, maybe we'll be lucky and Trent Reznor's studio will be destroyed and it will be a very long time before the world has to suffer through another attempt by him to be musically relevant. :D

Any decent history or culture can survive a flood. Only the ephemeral culture dies with a disaster, and the same goes for history.

ty for your concern Rose. I grew up in Louisiana which is probably what you are recalling but as Lector said, I now live in Jacksonville, FL. My heart goes out to my hometown state. NO will never be the same. :(

Been taking an extended break from the forums and have not been reading much so I missed this but I am touched by your concern... smiles.

I am hoping that Arbel is doing well. I saw the pictures out of Abbeville which is about 17 miles to the west of Lafayette. Dang, dang, dang. :(
