Second Life is said to be a platform, by which I think is implied the idea that we have some folks who are content providers, i.e. artists, businesspeople, manufacturers, laborers, and some who are their customers or prospects.

Does it seem like a good idea to engender hostility in a such an online marketplace?

Does the fact that people like to spend their time in the forums trying to start fights and insult others indicate that the Second Life program itself is not sufficiently engrossing to keep their minds focused inworld?
