Yes, thats right!

I wanna hear what qualities you love and hate in people, SL people, RL people, martians! whatever you want. You can do more or less than three, I know I have a ton, but well I can add more as I go along

Hate

1. Hypocrisy

Yeap, gotta hate hypocrisy, nothing worse than someone saying something about someone else, or slating them for doing something, then running along and doing it themselves! Even worse is when people like to say things behind others peoples backs, and then be all pally pally to their face, its like saying someone needs mental help, then going along with their mental lil plans. Makes my blood BOIL and it makes me stabbity!

2. Envy/Jealousy

While its nice, if your man/woman feels a pang seeing you with someone else, or your friend thinks your new coat looks nice. Its a TOTALLY different story if they take it upon themselves to become your complete clone and/or try and take everything you have away from you, because they want it themselves and wish you not to have it. I know people say that imitation is a form of flattery, I just guess it all depends on if the person thats doing it is completely sane or insane. If you ever find yourself feeling like this, please, seek help, its it ain't right.

3. Hatred/Cruelty


Hmmmm Hatred, its a kind of a wide range, so I have put it alongside cruelty. I am one of the softest people you will EVER meet, I find it so hard to be mean to people, it just isn't in my nature, yet I find myself lately, needing to do this, for my own sanity, and this pisses me off. People who hate 24/7 are just ODD, I mean I know we all hate at some stage or "dislike", but people that have hate raging inside them ALL the farking time, are just not right. Its unhealthy, unattractive and disturbing. Cruelty, I have to say, physical cruelty of any kind is unacceptable, but SL is more of a Mental cruelty playground. Why do people like to fuck with your head? Do they do it in RL? Why do they do it at all? Why play games with peoples emotions? Its really not gaining you anything is it? apart from asshat status? Cruelty is for people with no self respect or esteem. My tip, get a clue, and a life.

Love

1. Affection

I am an UBER affectionate person, I love hugs, I love kind words, I love being close to people and feeling a connection with them, I love the fact that I can hug my friends and know it won't turn into anything more, affection should be a part of everyones every day life, if its from a partner, a friend, a family member or even a pet, I believe if everyone had and showed a lil more affection in both worlds, we would all be a lil bit happy and skippier.

2. Honesty

What can I say about honesty... Hmm... one thing I do know, you aren't honest, you get caught out, it ALWAYS comes back threefold and bites you on the ass, its just the way it is, Karma, if you like. Of late, I notice honesty makes a refreshing change, alot of people I think need to look the word up, I don't see any reason on earth why anyone would be dishonest, even if you are being brutally honest, its better than plain outright lieing.

3. Being yourself

Nothing beats being yourself, even if you are the coldest of hearts, everyone will see some warmth in you, if you just be yourself, why try and be anyone else? We are ALL who we are, and only we can change that, we should NEVER change for other people, EVER, we are not being true to ourselves or to others, if we try and fool ourselves into thinking we are something we are not, and do not want to be. I see the good in everyone, or at least I try to, some people, sure its hard to find anything at all, not even a morsel, but still, I can't knock them, at least if they are being total bastards, I know they are being themselves, and I know where I stand.

Hate is a very strong word/emotion. There are, however, several things I greatly dislike.

2. self-centered, world owes them something, I should be "first" in line attitudes, etc.

3. people who think they know everything and tell you how you should live and shove it down your throat via laws, finanacial control or non stop yammering at you.

Love--

1) Compassion
2) Friendships that you can yell at each other and still be friends afterwards
3) People that can make me get the giggles.

Hate or Dislike--

1) People that need conflict so much in their lives that they will create it if it isn't there (i.e. interpersonal conflict)

2) Dishonesty

3) Have to go with hypocrisy here too, it's my biggest one actually

Dislike:
1. Religous zeal- Specifically for followers of any belief system that is so nihilistic that it holds (promotes?) ultimate catastrophe as the apotheosis of existence because that's when ultimate reward is received.

2. Flattery- If I really like something (when I'm not kidding!), I'll say it because it's true, not because I'm trying to manipulate you. Please reciprocate.

3. Good Guys- People who define themselves by how great, morally upright, or benevolent others find them are disgusting. This is why I'm not a politician.

Like:
1. Duality- The awe-inspiring, dynamic wonder I see in human beings is that they are duplicitous and even the most loving person can do the most heinous things. When someone is polarized, I see them walking around as half a person. When something is beautiful all the time, it loses its value. What is kindness without cruelty? I generally am attracted to people who can be both ugly and beautiful in appearance (-Cate Blanchett is the first celebrity that comes to mind if you want an illustration, though that shouldn't be taken as a perfect example) and both beautiful and horrible of persona.

2. Intelligence- Not defined by how many words a person knows or whether or not they can read hexadecimal, but defined by whether or not they are a good problem solver. I like people who can pick things apart and see how they work.

3. Humor- Especially humor rooted in irony. Nothing is funnier than irony (especially irony lightly sprinkled with a skosh of schadenfreude).

4. Iconoclasm- Rules are needed to have a functioning society, but they must be broken to tread new ground.

Dislike

1. Dishonesty

Well just because so many people have posted about how they "love love" and "hate hate" I thought I would try to be a little more personal...

I Hate:
(yes truly "hate" not dislike )

1) The Slooowww - slow walkers, slow talkers, slow thinkers etc.. (basically anyone who cant catch something they dropped before it hits the ground, avoid an onrushing vehicle and talk to two people at the same time)

2) The Smug - This is not always about smugness, but definitely includes anyone who thinks they are "better than the rest," unless they actually are better than the rest(there's a difference). This usually applies to tin-pot dictator type managers and primadonna PhD's, but can be expanded to include most customers in most stores, and most high school teachers.

3) The Vain - Nowadays this covers pretty much anyone under 25, but then I am old-fashioned. This covers those people downtown that check themselves out in every reflective surface they walk by and all those zero body fat workout types, but is maybe best exemplified by those rap gansta idiots that wear a thousand bucks worth of designer puffy jackets and crappy gold bling trying to imitate a new york street pimp.

I Love:

1) The Humble - In SL this is exemplified by those folks that do thousands of wonderfull things and dont blow their own horn about it so no one ever knows. I have come to know quite a few people that have contributed majorly to the game that most folks would not even recognise if I listed them (and their alts). This kind of hard work, helpfullness and humility is rare today and should be applauded.

2) The Smart - IMO Intelligence is fairly underated in todays world and certainly not selected for or supported by the social network. When I meet someone who is smart, it tells me (barring physical deformities or abnormalities), that they had smart parents who cared about their upbringing and just gives me a wonderful feeling of hope for the world that smart people still exist amoungst the unending dumbness.

3) The Funny - Anyone who can make you laugh, or anyone laugh on a continuing basis shows that they have intelligence, but also that understand what life is really about. Pushing back the veil of tears is always a good idea and funny people are crucial to any group surviveability IMO.

After writing that all out I notice that the two groups are almost matched opposites. Aparently I like smart and kind, and dont like stupid and selfish.
