For those of you who don't know, I've been slowly moving in with my gf, so I've also been slowly cleaning up my room at mom's place. I already threw away stuff like floppies and college papers but I have a heap of crap lying around that has some value, namely ancient computer boards. Everything from sound cards to graphics cards, to ethernet cards and modems, and a couple of dot matrix printers... ISA, PCI, AGP. I even have an external, analog modem that works fine and cost me a fortune :\ So if anyone collects ancient hardware for some reason, it's yours for the shipping fee. It would take a *while* to do a full inventory, so if you're looking for anything in particular, feel free to ask.

Moving directly from mom's place to girlfriend's place?
You are a brave Egg, indeed! Even if you had your own residence in the past, it is still a daring act. Might I suggest using the antique computer materials, William Gibson style, as the base matrix for a dwelling of your own. Given enough time, thermal heat-sink cement makes a good mortar. And you will know exactly how dedicated your significant other is to you, very quickly.

Huh? I'm not american. We don't value greed, ambition or fierce independence. On the contrary, we're a catholic country where Mary is generally worshipped and so your mother is regarded as something sacred. People generally don't move out until they're married here, and a lot of them do so reluctantly. We don't even have to go very far away to attend college, since our universities were founded like 800 years ago, and they are now right in the middle of our largest cities. So we don't have the dorm culture thing either. I don't understand how anyone would WANT to live alone. I can't stand being alone, it would drive me insane in less than a week. Heck, being an only child with a divorced mother is already painful enough. If I could afford to, I would have at least four children and live in a big ranch sort of place with lots of animals, and invite lots of people over etc. Aside from that, I'm 26, I've been with my girlfriend for the past six years and I know eggzactly what I'm getting into. The only reason she got an apartment is because she's three years older than me and has a pile of cash, so she can afford to do these eccentric things. I have been sort of moving in for a long time now, I've even had the keys for the past... six months or so? We usually sleep together practically every day and sometimes we even have dinner together. I'm only moving in with her because, well, we're probably getting married later in the year

XD You really are Portuguese. That's exactly what my girlfriend's dad did, minus a kid. She can't stand being alone either- which makes life interesting because I can't stand being around the same people for extended periods of time. Antique computers, huh? If you happen to have a Hollerith tabulating machine lying around, I'd happily pay you shipping + extra.

You could have four children, a big ranch and lots of animals in here! Maybe even a mammoth. Good luck to you; although as someone with a rich, young girlfriend - it sounds like you are already quite lucky!

Heh, I'm also tall dark and handsome, which is why I no longer have my picture up on my 1st life profile, or on the forums. Did I mention my gf is also smart as fuck? Food engineer, doing a master's degree in "Food Toxicology and Quality Control". She's done research and was published internationally Her thesis (so far) is about preserving food (mostly fresh-cut fruits and vegetables) without adding artificial crap or chemically altering it. Erm. Now about those computer parts
