I think Jim Gannon is ruining the whole goddamned thing. Jimbo is totally clueless and should be forced out immediately. Like the article says, he just hasn't signed enough players to challenge for the play-offs. I absolutely hate Jimbo. I think he is a fraud.  From: As reported by Vitalfootball.co.uk Jim Gannon was talking on the BBC Manchester sport show tonight, along with other local League Two managers and was asked a few interesting questions.
First he was asked about the players, and he said "Obviously we would like to have a few more players in, but we`ve had a good pre-season with a 7 week programme and all the lads are looking forward to Saturday`s game"
Then he was asked about the players he has brought in and he said "We`ve brought in Glenn Murray today from Carlisle, on a month to month situation, as we felt we needed another striker. We have been trying to add quality to the club, Tony Dinning was Port Vale`s captain and he`s now our captain. Michael Rose is a quality left back, and Gareth Owen is a natural left sided defender. We`ve also promoted a few youth players to the professional ranks."
He was then asked about the pressure on the job, and he said "There is no pressure compared to where I started last year, the club was at the bottom of the Football league and in a difficult situation - your league status is at stake. This year there is a little bit of pressure, this pressure is more from expectation though after we picked up 35 points from the 23 games last season, which is play-off form.
Some fans still will feel we haven`t signed enough players to challenge for the play-offs, but I`m sure as we got through August and pick up more players their expectations will pick up."
He was then asked about Adam Le Fondre and a question e-mailed in asked him why Le Fondre wasn`t starting. Jim said "Adam is probably the most natural goal scorer at the club, and we used him as an impact sub last season against a few of the bigger teams in the division. Adam could quite easily start this Saturday"
Then he was asked about consistency and how he thought the club would do, he said "This league is a difficult division to get consistency, often because players aren`t consistent enough. However Carlisle showed last season it can be done, and we feel that we are going to be more consistent in the first half of this season which will send us into the second half of the season in a good position".
Finally he was asked about Steve McClaren and how he thought England did at the World Cup, "I, like most people, were disappointed with the way England played and maybe this was because of the management at the time. Even if you have world class players, you still need a quality coach and I think McClaren will be a good coach and have a successful period as England manager. How do you guys feel about Jimbo?
