I've never been big on "causes", but I can't stand by and do nothing. Yesterday, there was a big crowd near the Welcome Area. Upon further investigation, I saw a crowd surrounding a pen which contained one (1) pony. Said pony, one "Pony Linden" was giving "free" rides, marked down from five (5) Linden.
What I saw was truly appalling. Poor Pony had to give rides to everyone who sat on his back. I saw no hay, water or proper toilet facilities for Pony (ponies require at least a bidet). Just an open pen, where Pony has to endure the "elements".
Even worse, Pony went through the indignity of having to offer rides to "helper robots" who do the stuff we wouldn't even pay, um ... those guys, the ones who have to take the crappy jobs (you know who they are).
Pony has been here less than 2 days, and he has faced lots of abuse. I see another example of the old Goofy/Pluto double standard. Put simply, if you walk upright, wear clothes and speak, you have rights. If you are on all fours, nude and mute, you are treated like an animal. He's even being denied that 5 Linden a ride. Even prostitutes get paid.
I fear that someday, Pony will break his bonds, leave the pen, and take revenge on his oppressors. Remember this post. Free Pony Linden before he comes for you. Don't be the first to face the Equine Firing Squad.

o.o sometimes I wonder if its worth a Re-visit to the W.A, being ripped from the arms of a Six pack ab'ed av, to hug a pony, I want a buggie that has a sticker saying "Honk if you hug your ponies" ;_;

Hehe, actually Pony Linden was freed last night and was wandering around the WA. A huge crowd surrounded the pony, with mouths agape and sounds of astonishment. Then, the riding began!
It didn't last long, and Pony was put back in the pen. I should have taken snaps, but it was a glorious moment indeed.

I agree that this is an appalling double standard of rights issues, and I hereby recommend that ALL furries, regardless of upright or quadrupedal nature, be required to provide rides and perform tricks for their fellow human SL residents.

All animals are equal , only some are more equal than others! I actually heard Pony say "I will work harder!" the other day... Pony likes his postion the farm! Soon they'll be ready for retirement and we can send Pony off to a big farm where they can eat hay all day long and never work again... that reminds me... I'm outta rum. Siggy.

I know this is an older post.. but curios.. does anyone know "where" to purchase a pony in SL? It doenst necessarily have to be scripted to ride at all.. can be just for show. Any help is appreciated!  |

I bought a unicorn you can ride (and you get several copies) at the shopping mall in British Isles. They had several styles of horses as well. Mine came with three - one with tack on, one bareback, and one in a grazing pose (Which is in my yard now ) Hope that helps! |
